All About Buddhism: Life After Death

We buddhists believe a living being ( layman ) is connected to a chain of lives. When we pass away from one life, we just stick to another life. There may or may not be a transition period which is bit controversial, but for a person who hasn't attain nirvana ( "Nibbana" -The ultimate goal in buddhism ) will have new life after the current one. In the new life , we can be a human, an animal or maybe a single celled being like amiba. The activities we perform in our current life and in past lives plays the major role in success of the new life after death. According to buddhism, it is not god's wish to make someone poor and some other person wish, it is our past life actions which determine the future life. Therefore Buddhists are not dependent upon a "highly powered, uncontrollable source".

Are we going our journey with a single "atman" like in Hindu? Of course not. The next life is like a mirror image of yours. If the mirror image is you , then there should be a duplicate of you in the world which is not true, but you can't argue that the mirror image doesn't represent you. Think about it. In the next life, you are not the same person as you are now, again you are not a different person into some extent. Simply, if we do good things, we gather good karma and you have the highest possibility to have a better life after death. So, why should we think of breaking the chain?. Lets take an example. Suppose you are the richest person in the world. Do you think that you would be free from all the problems in the world. No. You might have the risk of loosing your property. You maybe afraid that someone would break your record. That is life, we don't satisfy ourselves. We make our own goals and try to achieve and suffer. We need to get rid of continuous suffering.

This is just an overview of the life after death. There are many aspects in detail, which I would like to publish. Just let me know your thoughts

(published in All About Buddhism blog )

I THINK WE HAVE A WAY OF EXPLAINING THE REBIRTH TO MODERN PEOPLE IE.ATHMA OR SPIRIT IS LIKE A RECORDED CD. YOU RECORD GOOD THINGS AND TAKE WHEREVER YOU WANT AND PLAY IN ANY OTHER PLAYER IT WILL PLAY WHAT YOU RECORDED AND IF SOME ONE ASKS YOU CAN WE SEE WHAT IS RECORDED NO YOU CAN NOT BUT YOU CAN HEAR WHEN YOU WANT. THE REBIRTH IS TOO SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND ONE DAY THE SCIENCE WILL PROVE THE TRANSMISSION OF LIFE TO ANOTHER AND IT IS LIKE WE NEVER KNEW THE ELECTRICITY OR ANY OTHER POWER SUCH AS MAGNETIC ETC WERE THERE IN UNIVERSE BUT IN RECENT PAST ONLY THE SCIENTISTS STARTED FINDING THEM SO WILL BE THE REBIRTH AS LORD BUDDHA SAID.

When you say that you're the same between lives, do you mean that you adopt the same gender, body, beliefs, and so on, as basically a continuation of the last life?

From what I've seen in people who've done past life regressions, they can often come back as different genders and with characteristics, but their level of consciousness seems to carry over across lives.

Hey,
My name is natalie and i'm 14 years old. I was brought up a christain but i was always really sceptical about the meaning that that religion and not soon afterwards dropped it completly. The thing is though i really do believe that there is a higher being or place that you can reach and during an .R.E. lesson i discovered Buddhism. I've tried meditation a few times now and i get a real sense of feeling of myself and calmness. Now i'm really intrested in becoming a buddhist and i've been reasearching it all over the internet and trying to find some places where i can learn more about this religion. I'd really love to hear more about this and your veiws, i don't have an account but i have a messenger account, however i would like to hear a reply post or comment back before i hand out my email adress
many regards, Natalie

Personally, I found it a little too complex for what I needed to know!

I may know that people slander other religions because they cannot criticize it with proper facts, but it is still very saddening when you hear someone else speak ill of Buddhism, and what they say is not even true. I always disagree with them on the spot, but they will simply change the subject after realizing that you are a Buddhist and they don't want to hear you correcting them. They won't say sorry either.

I have found some beautiful paasages in the bible. Yet many make no sense at all. Yet in the world of christianity we are expected to follow with blind faith. But in my opinion it's just not that cut and dry. A law of Karma makes far more sense to me.

I like very much your ecumenical perspective and I am, like a Catholic, interested in some aspects of Buddhism and some religions in order to watch them as philosophies. Buy Viagra Viagra

The Buddha said there's no soul. I think the reincarnation idea was just leftover from Hinduism. The Buddha's entire culture believed in reincarnation because they were ALL Hindus.

LIMA PERATURAN (Panca Sila) ALAM DALAM BUDDHISME
